PS5 open-world Hela: of Mice & Magic gets trailer, Dec 1
Knights Peak and Windup Games released a trailer for Hela: of Mice & Magic, an open-world game starring a mouse, due Dec. 1, 2026 on PS5, Switch 2, Xbox Series X/S (digital) and PC.
Knights Peak and Windup Games released a trailer for Hela: of Mice & Magic, an open-world adventure that follows a small mouse as its protagonist. The game is set to launch on Dec. 1, 2026 for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Xbox Series X, digital Xbox Series S and PC.
The trailer opens on a witch and two tiny companions referred to as “little ones.” The sequence shows the mice watching the witch brew potions and care for the surrounding forest. The witch equips each mouse with a miniature backpack charged with magic and gives them a small jar containing a portion of her power before the mice set off.
The game description released with the trailer says players can explore alone or in co‑op across forests, meadows, wetlands and burrows. The witch’s magical backpack is described as a core gameplay tool, enabling the mouse to travel farther, reach higher locations and interact with elements of the environment in slower, exploratory moments. The description frames the game around exploration and environmental interaction rather than fast-paced combat.
Hela: of Mice & Magic will be available in digital and physical formats. A physical Harmony Edition will be sold at retail and includes a copy of the game, a digital download of the soundtrack by Frida Johansson and Henrik Oja, a 48-page softcover art book with concept art and sketches, an extra outer box, a reversible poster with the game map and a set of exclusive stickers. Standard digital editions will be sold for the announced platforms; the Xbox Series S release is digital-only.
A line of dialogue in the trailer addresses the mice: “You will know what to do with it when the time comes. You will know how to weave the notes of the melody back together.” The project is developed by Knights Peak in collaboration with Windup Games, and the Dec. 1, 2026 release date applies across the announced platforms.
