PS5 players report libraries scrambled after PSN outage

Sony restored PlayStation libraries after a day-long PSN outage, but many PS5 users say account clocks reverted about a month, producing incorrect Recently Played lists and missing games.

Sony took parts of its PlayStation Network offline earlier this week to address a glitch and restored services after roughly a day, but many PS5 owners report account data errors after the restoration.

Users say their PSN account clocks moved back about a month, which made Recently Played lists show older titles and removed recent launches from some libraries. The issue affects both disc-based and digital games, pointing to account-level data rather than game format.

The partial outage affected PlayStation’s “Gaming and social” services. Sony took portions of the service offline while engineers applied a fix and then brought services back online later in the week.

Players posted screenshots and descriptions of the problem on community forums. Several reports show the last two games a player actually launched no longer appear in Recently Played, while older entries from more than a month ago appear as the most recent activity. A smaller number of users reported entire titles missing from their libraries.

Sony has not published a technical explanation or a timeline for a full resolution. User reports indicate account timestamps were set to earlier dates during or after the restoration, creating mismatches between local console history and PSN records.

PlayStation Network outages and data issues have occurred sporadically in the past and were often fixed by rolling back changes or restoring from backups. Affected users are advised to check their libraries and Recently Played sections and to contact PlayStation support if purchases, licenses or titles appear missing.
