PS5/PS4 Next Week: Directive 8020, Rugrats, Harvest Moon

Several new PlayStation releases arrive next week, led by Supermassive Games’ Directive 8020 on May 12 and followed by Rugrats: Retro Rewind and Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos Complete on May 15. The schedule covers narrative horror, cooperative survival, action RPGs and retro compilations on PlayStation platforms.

Directive 8020, developed by Supermassive Games, is billed as a cinematic sci-fi horror adventure for PS5. The title pairs survival gameplay with branching choices and a narrative structure in which player decisions affect outcomes. Supermassive’s previous narrative horror projects use choice-driven story paths and cinematic presentation.

Also releasing May 12 are Call of the Elder Gods and NITRO GEN OMEGA. Call of the Elder Gods places investigators at Miskatonic University as they pursue revelations connected to a decade-old artifact. NITRO GEN OMEGA sets players in a post-war wasteland where mercenary crews fight rogue AI and scavenging war machines while completing contracts from surviving city-states.

On May 14 several smaller releases arrive for PlayStation. Outbound is a cooperative game in which up to four players build and upgrade a mobile home, craft workstations, source energy from sun, wind or water and grow crops while living off-grid. RoadOut combines twin-stick combat with driving mechanics, sending players across a post-apocalyptic landscape to race, fight and explore puzzle-filled dungeons on foot. The Caribou Trail follows a character named Fisher leaving Newfoundland to join the British war effort, framed as a narrative rooted in travel and wartime experience.

May 15 features two releases aimed at different audiences. Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos Complete collects the Harvest Moon experience set in Anthos, with farming, protection by a Harvest Goddess and interactions with Harvest Sprites; the Complete edition indicates it includes additional content beyond the base game. Rugrats: Retro Rewind compiles six classic Rugrats titles from the 1990s into a single collection for modern PlayStation hardware.

Most listings identify PS5 as the primary platform; publishers list Rugrats: Retro Rewind and Harvest Moon for PlayStation consoles that include PS5 and PS4.
