PS5 ‘Recently Played’ feature down for two weeks

PlayStation’s Recently Played section has been unavailable on PS5 consoles and in the PS App for about two weeks after Sony removed it on June 15 to address a separate PS Store library bug. Sony has not publicly acknowledged the ongoing outage.

Around June 15 some users reported adult-rated titles appearing in their libraries and in Recently Played without purchases. Sony took Recently Played offline to address the issue. The section returned briefly, but many players report it stopped recording games played after that update. User reports indicate the PlayStation Network clock was reset by roughly one month, which prevents recent play sessions from appearing in Recently Played.

The problem affects both disc-based and digital games, with most complaints coming from players using disc copies. On the PS App Recently Played no longer shows campaign completion percentages or a quick view of trophy progress. On PS5 the Recently Played widget in the Welcome Hub does not reliably list recent titles; users must hover over individual game tiles to see progress details.

Players have posted multiple threads on PlayStation community forums over the past two weeks asking about the issue. Attempts to contact Sony have not produced a public response or a timeline for a fix, and community posts indicate the company has not replied directly to individual inquiries.

Sony removed Recently Played as part of its response to the mid-June library bug. Although the feature was restored briefly, the logging malfunction has continued and there is no announced fix date. Affected players continue to report missing entries and reduced functionality on both PS5 and the PS App.
