Microids’ 2025 PS5 remake of the 1999 PlayStation adventure Amerzone – The Explorer’s Legacy is on sale for 60% off on the PlayStation Store. The game is available for $15.99 until July 2; after that it will be listed at $39.99.
Players take on the role of a young journalist sent to a distant country to recover a single important object. The game’s description reads: “Your goal is to bring back the last egg of the mythical Great White Birds. According to legend, they are bound up with the fate of the only country they call home: a land with strange, dangerous plants and wildlife that has been devastated by years of bloody dictatorship.” The remake retains the original’s exploration and puzzle-based design.
The PS5 edition allows transfer of a save file from the limited demo into the full game and supports cloud streaming for PS Plus Premium subscribers. Microids drew the remake’s visual and narrative design from a 1986 comic by Belgian artist Benoît Sokal.
Amerzone first launched on the original PlayStation in 1999 and was a commercial success. The current sale is the lowest recorded price for the PS5 remake since its release.
The discounted price is available only through the PlayStation Store and ends on July 2, after which the standard price of $39.99 will resume.
