PS5 Remaster of 2013 PS Vita RPG Exstetra Arrives Sept. 3, 2026

Furyu and Studio Saizensen will release a PS5 remaster of Exstetra worldwide on Sept. 3, 2026. A PC remaster is available today. The game first appeared in Japan in 2013 for PlayStation Vita and Nintendo 3DS and did not receive an international release at the time.

Exstetra is set in Amazea, a version of Tokyo fused with another world. Players assume the role of a chosen savior called a Prisma and work to prevent the destruction of both worlds. Furyu’s plot description states, “Kiss is the only way to save two worlds destined for ruin.” The mechanic and narrative link kissing to the game’s rescue objectives.

The PS5 edition will be the franchise’s first global release on a home console. Furyu has not yet published a PlayStation Store page for the PS5 version, and the company has not confirmed pricing or whether physical editions will be offered.

Furyu and Studio Saizensen have not provided details on technical or visual upgrades, supported languages, or post-launch support. Aside from the PC remaster released today and the announced PS5 date, no other platforms have been disclosed.

When Exstetra launched in 2013, localization specialist XSEED indicated a Western release was unlikely. XSEED is not involved in the current remaster project; Furyu is handling the global release plans for the PS5 edition.

The release follows a recent pattern of older handheld titles being updated for current consoles and PC, making previously Japan-only games available to a wider international audience.
