Telltale will release a PlayStation 5 remaster of The Wolf Among Us on Oct. 29, 2026. The update moves the game to the studio’s Batman engine, adds a Noir mode, and refreshes character art and scene lighting.
Matt Saia, director of the project and Telltale’s vice president of creative, described the team’s aim as honoring the original while improving visuals and technical systems. He called the update “a love letter to fans” and explained the goal was to introduce new players to the story while giving returning players a polished presentation.
Technical work included porting the game to the engine used for Telltale’s Batman titles, updating shaders, and applying inverted line work on moving objects to maintain the comic-inspired appearance during animation. Lighting was redone for each scene to match the revised art. Character textures and models were rebuilt; developers moved each character from concept art to a high-resolution model and then to the in-game model used in the remaster.
The remaster adds a Noir mode that emphasizes the game’s detective-noir style and includes behind-the-scenes features. Telltale has stated that core narrative elements, the original tone, and the choices-driven structure remain intact in the updated version.
The Wolf Among Us is based on Bill Willingham’s Fables graphic novels and was first released on earlier PlayStation platforms. The Oct. 29, 2026 launch brings the title to current hardware with updated graphics and technical systems while retaining the original narrative framework.
