PS5 Gets Second July Firmware Update, Minor UI Tweaks

Sony Interactive Entertainment released PS5 system software update 26.05-13.60.00 on July 23, 2026. The update applies to both the standard PS5 and the PS5 Pro and requires a download of roughly 1 GB.
Sony’s patch notes are short: “We’ve improved the messages and usability on some screens.” The notes do not list any new features beyond those interface and messaging changes.
A previous July release, version 26.04-13.42.00, arrived on July 1 and was described as improving system software performance and stability.
There have been no reports from players of hidden or unexpected changes in the July 23 release. Significant system software additions for the PS5 have not been frequent since the PSSR 2.0 update earlier this year, which added Welcome Hub features including Showcase Mode and Slideshow Mode.
Installation of the July 23 update requires a console restart after the download. Sony has not provided additional technical details in the public notes.
