PS5 Ports of Toy Story Classics Removed From PlayStation Store

Sony removed PS5 ports of Toy Story 2 and Toy Story 3 and the PS1 version of Buzz Lightyear of Star Command from the PlayStation Store and from the PlayStation Plus Premium catalog earlier this month. Players who already purchased the digital editions retain access to their copies.

A PlayStation Store delisting blocks new purchases but does not erase copies already owned. Account holders who bought the games can re-download and continue to play them. PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers who did not own the titles lose access when the games leave the catalog.

The versions were taken down ahead of planned reissues. The PS1 Buzz Lightyear entry was pulled in advance of its inclusion in a forthcoming compilation, and the other ports are being prepared for updated releases tied to the Toy Story franchise’s 30th anniversary.

Atari and Disney will re-release the titles as part of two packages. Toy Story: Retro Roundup! will bundle several classic Disney and Pixar game adaptations and will include Toy Story 2: Buzz Lightyear to the Rescue and Buzz Lightyear of Star Command. Toy Story 3 will be offered separately as Toy Story 3 Complete Edition.

Retro Roundup will bring multiple versions of older games to modern platforms, compiling entries such as the original Toy Story (1995), Toy Story 2 (1999), Toy Story Racer (2001) and A Bug’s Life (1998). Disney described the package as a ‘definitive collection of games based on the film franchise.’

Both Toy Story: Retro Roundup! and Toy Story 3 Complete Edition are scheduled for release on October 15, 2026. In the short term, owners keep their purchased copies and PlayStation Plus subscribers who did not buy the games will need to wait for the new collections or purchase the titles to regain permanent access.
