R-Type Dimensions III: Digital on May 19, Physical Aug. 11

ININ Games will release R-Type Dimensions III digitally on the Nintendo Switch eShop on May 19. Physical cartridges for Switch are delayed to Aug. 11 due to global manufacturing and logistics constraints.

ININ Games confirmed R-Type Dimensions III will launch digitally on the Nintendo Switch eShop on May 19. Physical Switch cartridges for the title have been postponed to Aug. 11, and the Collector’s Edition has been rescheduled for a winter release.

The publisher cited ‘ongoing global manufacturing and logistics constraints’ for the delay. The company stated the change affects only physical editions and is intended to preserve production standards. ININ noted ‘the latest game build will be on the cartridge when it’s ready to ship, so no need for a Day One patch.’

Developed by Tozai Games, R-Type Dimensions III is a remake of R-Type III: The Third Lightning. The team rebuilt every stage, boss and projectile pattern with new 3D graphics and updated animations while keeping the original music and sound effects. Players can switch between the original and the new visuals.

The release includes local cooperative play, updated scoring and survival mechanics, an Advanced mode available at launch, customizable controls and two 3D camera settings labeled normal and crazy.

ININ issued the schedule update roughly two weeks before the digital launch. Digital buyers will be able to download the game on May 19. Physical cartridges are expected to reach stores on Aug. 11, and the Collector’s Edition will ship in winter.
