Rayman Legends Retold arrives on Switch 2 Oct. 1

Ubisoft announced Rayman Legends Retold for Nintendo Switch 2, featuring rebuilt 3D visuals, a new story and levels. It launches Oct. 1 for $39.99/€39.99 and includes Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition.

Ubisoft announced Rayman Legends Retold for Nintendo Switch 2, a rebuilt edition of the 2013 platformer. It will be released on Oct. 1 for $39.99 in the U.S. and €39.99 in Europe and includes a copy of Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition.

The Retold edition rebuilds the game’s visuals in 3D. Backgrounds are more detailed, the camera moves beyond the original fixed 2D view, and character models have been redesigned. The release adds new 3D sequences, including on-rails dragon rides, and introduces a new story with fully voiced cinematics.

New content includes a previously unreleased sixth realm, four musical stages and additional Cave of Trials challenges. The Kung Foot multiplayer mode returns with improved controls and customizable rules. Developers report gameplay mechanics have been refined across the original levels.

The soundtrack has been expanded with contributions from composers Christophe Héral and Grant Kirkhope. Ubisoft confirmed that Rayman Origins: Enhanced Edition is bundled with Retold; that version offers 4K resolution support, 60 frames per second performance and new collectibles.

Rayman Legends originally launched on Wii U in 2013 and was released on Nintendo Switch as a Definitive Edition in 2017. The Retold edition updates the last mainline Rayman title for Nintendo’s next console and will be available on Switch 2 starting Oct. 1.
