Remedy to Self-Publish Control Resonant on Xbox in 2026
Remedy will self-publish Control Resonant in 2026 for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC, with Xbox Play Anywhere at launch and development support from ID@Xbox.
Remedy Entertainment will self-publish Control Resonant in 2026 for Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC. The studio is working with Microsoft’s ID@Xbox team to integrate Xbox Play Anywhere and to prepare the game for multiple device formats and platform certification.
Xbox Play Anywhere support means a single purchase will work across Xbox consoles, Windows PCs and compatible handheld devices. Players will be able to carry saves, downloadable content and achievements between supported devices and continue progress when switching hardware.
Control Resonant shifts the playable perspective to Dylan Faden and moves the action out of the Oldest House into a larger, more connected Manhattan. The plot places Dylan at the center of a new crisis while he develops supernatural abilities and searches for his sister, FBC Director Jesse Faden. Paranatural threats in the city will include the Hiss and an invasive microorganism named the Mold. Remedy says the game is meant to stand alone so new players do not have to play earlier titles to follow the story.
Remedy chose to publish the title itself while relying on ID@Xbox for platform guidance and technical support. The teams worked on performance and control tuning for handheld play, and on device switching so players do not lose progress when moving between platforms.
Remedy’s lead creative staff described design changes that come with an open city setting. Creative Director Mikael Kasurinen compared the new game and the original as companion entries that share a world but offer different perspectives. Lead Level Designer Anne-Marie Grönroos highlighted larger open areas, visible landmarks and increased verticality, with gameplay that moves between rooftops, street level and below. Senior Communications Manager Miika Huttunen said the studio focused on making the experience consistent across platforms.
Control Resonant will be released through Remedy’s self-publishing label with ID@Xbox assisting on cross-platform integration and certification.
