Resident Evil 2 and 3 on PS Store now $7.99 each

Capcom has discounted the remakes of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 on the PlayStation Store by 80%. Each title is listed for $7.99, down from the current digital price of $39.99. The Resident Evil: Raccoon City bundle that bundles both games is not discounted.

Resident Evil 2 launched in 2019 and Resident Evil 3 in 2020 on PlayStation 4; both are playable on PlayStation 5 through backward compatibility. At release each game carried a $59.99 MSRP before later digital pricing adjustments.

Both games are full remakes of Capcom’s late-1990s and early-2000s titles. Resident Evil 2 was rebuilt with an over-the-shoulder camera, updated graphics, revised level layouts and new voice performances. Resident Evil 3 received similar graphical and mechanical updates while emphasizing more action-oriented sequences.

At launch, Resident Evil 2 received broadly positive critical response for its presentation and technical execution. Resident Evil 3 drew a more mixed critical response compared with the second remake.

Capcom has continued to issue updates and periodic discounts for its catalog. Recent entries include Resident Evil: Requiem, and the company has announced a forthcoming remake of Resident Evil – Code: Veronica for modern platforms.

The sale is listed on the PlayStation Store and applies to individual purchases; availability and timing may vary by region and by user account.
