Resident Evil: Code Veronica remake coming to Xbox in 2027

Capcom announced a remake of Resident Evil: Code Veronica for Xbox consoles, scheduled for 2027. The company said the project is part of its effort to update older franchise entries for modern platforms.

Resident Evil: Code Veronica originally launched on Sega’s Dreamcast in 2000 and was later reissued as Code: Veronica X. The story follows Claire Redfield as she tries to survive and uncover a conspiracy on a remote prison island; later events move the characters to Antarctica. The original title expanded the series’ plot and introduced locations and characters that have persisted in the franchise.

The remake follows a recent pattern of remaking legacy Resident Evil games with overhauled graphics, reworked controls and updated combat and camera systems. Capcom has refreshed several earlier entries with changes to presentation and gameplay on current consoles.
