Resident Evil Requiem demo hits Switch 2; no save transfer

Capcom released a Resident Evil Requiem demo on the Switch 2 eShop. Players can try the opening chapters with Leon and Grace; demo saves and unlocks won’t carry over.

Capcom has released a demo for Resident Evil Requiem on the Switch 2 eShop. The demo is available to download now and places players into the game’s opening chapters starring Leon S. Kennedy and Grace Ashcroft.

The playable sections let users experience early story beats, combat encounters and exploration. The demo is limited to those introductory segments so players can evaluate the game’s controls, performance and pacing on Switch 2 hardware before deciding to buy the full version.

Capcom confirmed that any progress, collectibles, inventory items and story progression earned in the demo will not transfer to the full retail or digital release. There is no in-demo option to unlock or carry forward content, so purchases of the full game require starting a new save.

Earlier this month the full game received an update that added a minigame called “Leon Must Die Forever.” That minigame is part of the updated full release and is not included in the Switch 2 demo.

The demo release provides Switch 2 owners a way to test how Resident Evil Requiem runs on the platform and whether the opening chapters match their expectations. Players who want their progress preserved will need to begin a new save when they buy the complete game.
