Resident Evil Requiem: ‘Leon Must Die Forever’ Free on Switch 2

Capcom has released a free minigame update for Resident Evil Requiem on Switch 2. The mode, titled “Leon Must Die Forever,” is available now and becomes accessible after players complete the game’s main story.

The minigame focuses on action rather than the story campaign. Players control Leon and move through a series of short, timed stages. The mode includes exclusive enhancer abilities that change playstyle and a clock-based mechanic that applies to regular encounters and boss fights.

Multiple difficulty tiers are included, with an extreme mode aimed at experienced players. Boss encounters carry strict time limits, and failure to meet the mode’s requirements will force players to restart stages. Capcom described the mode using its title, saying players will “die forever” if they do not meet the mode’s strict conditions.

Capcom announced the update followed expectations that new content would appear after Golden Week in Japan. The publisher confirmed the minigame is a free update and said it will provide additional details about the mode at a later date.

Players who have finished Resident Evil Requiem on Switch 2 can access the minigame immediately by updating the game and selecting the new mode after completing the story.
