Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy launches Aug. 27, 2026
Asobo Studio released a gameplay trailer for PS5 prequel Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy and set its release for Aug. 27, 2026.
Asobo Studio released a gameplay trailer and Focus Entertainment set the release date for Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy on Aug. 27, 2026 for PS5. The game is a prequel that centers on Sophia, a character introduced in A Plague Tale: Requiem.
The new footage follows Sophia on Minotaur Island and shows sequences of exploration, puzzle solving and combat as she tries to stay ahead of an army. The studio describes her as “a fierce young plunderer, on the run and determined to uncover the secrets of her past.”
Resonance is set in 1334, fifteen years before the events of A Plague Tale: Requiem. Players will not control Amicia or Hugo; the story follows Sophia through trials that test survival skills and resourcefulness.
An official overview included the line, “the terrifying creature hidden behind the myth will soon resonate with her,” suggesting a central creature or supernatural element in the narrative.
The trailer highlights environmental hazards, puzzle challenges and tense, close-range encounters with human foes. The footage emphasizes atmosphere and character-focused moments rather than large-scale set pieces.
The A Plague Tale series began with A Plague Tale: Innocence (2019) and continued with A Plague Tale: Requiem (2022). Earlier entries combined stealth and puzzle mechanics with narrative-driven gameplay.
Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is confirmed for PS5. Focus Entertainment is listed as publisher and Asobo Studio as developer. No platforms beyond PS5, pricing or pre-order details have been announced.
