Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy releases today on the PlayStation Store for PS5, priced at $59.99. It is set 15 years before Requiem and holds an 80/100 Metacritic score from 50 critics.

Asobo Studio’s Resonance: A Plague Tale Legacy is available today on the PlayStation Store for PS5. The game is priced at $59.99 and the PS5 version holds an 80/100 Metacritic score based on 50 critic reviews. The publisher lifted the review embargo before release.

Resonance is the third game in the franchise that began in 2019. Its story takes place 15 years before 2022’s Requiem.

Players assume the role of Sophia, who the studio describes as a young plunderer on the run and determined to uncover her past.

The campaign sends Sophia to Minotaur’s Island, where she faces deadly trials, crosses treacherous trails, solves puzzles and fights while an army pursues her. The studio’s overview also warns of a mythic creature tied to the island’s lore that will affect her during the story.

Gameplay includes a mechanic that lets players switch between the Middle Ages and the Minoan period; those shifts create sections set in different eras used for exploration and puzzle solving.

As the third entry in the series, Resonance continues characters and themes from earlier games while placing its narrative before Requiem. The title is available now on the PlayStation Store for PS5 at the listed price.
