Rhythm Heaven Groove brings 30+ multiplayer minigames to Switch

Nintendo announced Rhythm Heaven Groove will include more than 30 cooperative and competitive multiplayer minigames and 80 new rhythm minigames, launching July 2 on Switch.

Nintendo announced during its latest Nintendo Direct that Rhythm Heaven Groove will launch on the Switch on July 2. The presentation included an overview trailer that highlighted multiplayer options and new single-player content.

The trailer showed a variety of short rhythm challenges designed for group play. Nintendo described the multiplayer suite as “over 30 co-operative and competitive games” that allow players to compete or team up. Clips in the trailer featured players slicing arrows to the beat, racing to grab a slice of cake and surviving a barrage of large rolling balls, illustrating the quick, score-driven nature of the rounds.

Rhythm Heaven Groove also includes a single-player campaign that combines rhythm mechanics with dungeon-style battles. Players use timing and button inputs to cast spells and progress through stages. The trailer presented the single-player campaign alongside the multiplayer modes.

The title is developed and published by Nintendo for the Switch family of consoles and is scheduled to release on July 2. The Direct did not specify whether multiplayer modes will support online play, local wireless, or only split-screen, and no pricing or pre-order details were provided. Further information about features and availability is expected before launch.
