RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic arrives on Switch 2
RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic arrives on Nintendo Switch 2 with mouse support and enhanced resolution. Switch owners can buy a $5 eShop upgrade; standalone edition costs $29.99.
Atari released RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic for Nintendo Switch 2 on the Nintendo eShop today, adding mouse support and an enhanced resolution. Owners of the original Switch edition can purchase an eShop upgrade for $5 (about £4.50); the standalone Switch 2 edition is priced at $29.99 (about £26.99).
In a press release Atari described the new build as offering “mouse controls” and “enhanced resolution.” The paid upgrade is intended for players who already own the Switch version and want the updated features on Switch 2 without buying the full release.
RollerCoaster Tycoon Classic bundles the 1999 and 2001 PC titles RollerCoaster Tycoon and RollerCoaster Tycoon 2. The package includes 95 scenarios drawn from the two original games and their expansion packs and includes quality-of-life improvements carried over from earlier ports.
The original Switch release received an 8/10 score in late 2024. About a month after that release a patch added touch controls and expanded visual and cursor control settings; the Switch 2 edition adds mouse input and higher-resolution output.
Both the $5 upgrade and the standalone Switch 2 edition are available now through Nintendo’s digital store.
