Square Enix released a trailer for Romancing SaGa 3: Destinies United and confirmed a worldwide launch on Feb. 16, 2027 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch and PC.

The publisher’s synopsis describes a setting where the star Morastrum, the “Star of Death,” rises every 300 years and dooms those born beneath it except for a single Child of Destiny. An insurrection in the city of Loanne reveals that the Four Sinistrals seek to reopen the gates to the Abyss. Eight playable heroes are central to the plot; players choose one and make decisions that shape the narrative.

Trailer footage highlights party formations, distinct battle styles and power systems that affect combat. The video shows characters using varied strategies against enemies and suggests different outcomes depending on the selected hero and the choices made during a playthrough. The remake will offer three difficulty options: casual, normal and classic.

Romancing SaGa 3: Destinies United is described as a full HD remake of the 1995 title. The trailer includes newly composed music by original series composer Kenji Ito, with an option for players to switch tracks. Visual upgrades and updated sound design appear alongside scenes introducing each playable character and the threats they face.

Pre-orders are open through Feb. 15, 2027. Players who pre-order via the PlayStation Store will receive special equipment placed in a treasure chest in Loanne or at the port of Myules after starting the game.

Romancing SaGa 3 first released in Japan on Nov. 11, 1995. A worldwide remastered edition arrived in 2019 on multiple platforms. The new release follows those earlier updates to the SaGa series for modern consoles.
