Rugrats: Retro Rewind Collection Switch eShop delayed to May 22
Limited Run Games moved the Nintendo Switch eShop release of Rugrats: Retro Rewind Collection from May 15 to May 22, 2026. Physical pre-orders run May 1–31 on Limited Run’s site.
Limited Run Games has postponed the Nintendo Switch eShop launch of Rugrats: Retro Rewind Collection by one week, moving the digital release from May 15 to May 22, 2026. The company confirmed the change on its social media channels in response to a follower inquiry.
Physical editions remain available for pre-order on Limited Run’s website from May 1 through May 31. Limited Run is offering both Standard and Deluxe Editions. The Deluxe Edition is set to include an XS-style jewelcase, a soundtrack, a Reptar puzzle piece keychain, and a sticker sheet.
The compilation collects six Rugrats titles originally released across PlayStation, Nintendo 64, Game Boy and Game Boy Advance. The set includes Rugrats: Search for Reptar (PlayStation, 1998), The Rugrats Movie (Game Boy/Game Boy Color), Rugrats: Time Travelers (Game Boy Color, 1999), Rugrats: Studio Tour (PlayStation), Rugrats in Paris: The Movie (Game Boy Color/PlayStation/N64) and Rugrats: Castle Capers (Game Boy Advance, 2001). Limited Run also announced a Game Boy Color cartridge release for the four Game Boy and Game Boy Color entries.
The collection adds save-anywhere functionality, a rewind option, screen filters and an in-game music player that were not in the original releases. Limited Run said the one-week delay applies only to the Switch eShop release and did not indicate any changes to the physical release schedule.
The Retro Rewind Collection follows the 2024 Rugrats title Adventures in Gameland and targets fans of the 1990s console and handheld era. Digital buyers should see the compilation on the Switch eShop on May 22, while collectors can place physical pre-orders through May 31.
