RuneScape: Dragonwilds launches 1.0 on PS5 and consoles

RuneScape: Dragonwilds launched its 1.0 build today on the PlayStation Store and is available simultaneously on PC, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2 after selling 1 million Early Access copies.

RuneScape: Dragonwilds, a spin-off from the RuneScape franchise, released its full 1.0 build today on the PlayStation Store and on PC, Xbox Series X/S and Nintendo Switch 2. The title reached one million sales during its Early Access period.

The game departs from the franchise’s traditional MMORPG format. Players explore Ashenfall, an island separate from the main game world of Gielinor, and focus on gathering resources, crafting equipment, building shelters and uncovering the island’s locations. Progression is structured to culminate in a confrontation with the dragon queen. All areas and content available in Early Access remain included at launch.

Version 1.0 introduces a complete combat overhaul. The update restores a dedicated Special Attack resource, adds a Visceral Attacks trigger that activates after successful parries, speeds up and increases mobility for wand-based spellcasting, and widens the windows for blocking and animation cancels. The launch build also adds the Scorned Wilderness raid, new story content and a new Rune armor set.

Dragonwilds is available digitally on the PlayStation Store and through PC and console storefronts. The Standard Edition is priced at $29.99 and a Deluxe Edition is offered at launch. Physical editions for PlayStation and Xbox are planned for Q4 2026; no physical release for Nintendo Switch 2 has been announced.

Release notes provided to outlets did not include developer or publisher details. The 1.0 build retains the Early Access map and activities while completing the combat and content updates that were tested during Early Access.
