Estimates: Saros Sold About 300K in Two Weeks
Unofficial Alinea Analytics estimates put PS5 title Saros at roughly 300,000 copies sold in its first two weeks, a pace some analysts say trails Returnal despite a 93.7M install base.
Unofficial estimates from Alinea Analytics place PlayStation 5 title Saros at about 300,000 copies sold in its first two weeks after launch. Several analysts say that pace appears slower than Housemarque’s earlier release Returnal.
Alinea’s figures are not official and the firm has not disclosed its methodology. Industry observers note Alinea’s past estimates have varied in accuracy, and no verified sales totals for Saros have been published by Sony or recognized market trackers.
Analyst Rhys Elliot highlighted the comparison with Returnal, which launched when the PS5 addressable audience was around eight million consoles. Sony’s recent financial report lists about 93.7 million PS5 units worldwide, a much larger install base now than at Returnal’s release.
Saros began with an Early Access period and storefront activity that indicated a modest opening-day performance over a limited sales window. Analysts point out the PS5 market today contains many more titles than when Returnal arrived, creating a more congested launch environment.
Observers identified factors that could affect Saros’ sales over time, including player reviews, word of mouth, discounts, featured placement on the PlayStation Store, and additional marketing. Some industry watchers project the title could gain sales gradually if community response strengthens; others say visibility will determine whether first-week traction grows.
Housemarque developed both Returnal and Saros. Until Sony or established sales trackers release official numbers, Alinea’s estimate remains an unconfirmed early snapshot of Saros’ commercial start.
