Screamer PS5 reboot half price on PlayStation Store

Screamer, the 2026 reboot of the 1990s racing series, is available for $29.99 on the PlayStation Store through Thursday, Aug. 13. After the promotion ends the price will return to $59.99. The discount applies to the PlayStation 5 version only.

The game was developed by Milestone and is the first new mainline entry in the franchise since 2000. Screamer presents races in a neon-lit, futuristic setting that draws on 1990s anime visuals.

The single-player campaign centers on a tournament organized by a mysterious figure called the “master.” Five teams of competitors from diverse backgrounds take part, each pursuing its own prize and objectives. Drivers pilot vehicles designed to match their driving styles and have unique abilities that provide in-race advantages. The game’s plot reads: “This merciless competition will be the key to each participant’s personal goals.”

PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers can access a two-hour full-game trial as part of their subscription. Campaign progress and trophies earned during the trial carry over if the player purchases the full game. Players without PS Plus can download a free demo from the PlayStation Store that offers a limited sample of gameplay.

The sale and trial are listed on the PlayStation Store through Aug. 13. The $29.99 price will revert to the standard $59.99 after that date until any future promotions are offered.
