Scuf and PlayStation launched the licensed Omega PS5 controller with 28 inputs, 11 programmable, low-latency connectivity and a $219.99 price; it ships now from Scuf’s site.
Scuf and PlayStation launched the Omega, a licensed PlayStation 5 performance controller, today. Scuf lists the controller at $219.99 and it is available now from Scuf’s online store in color options including black, white and a cherry blossom edition.
The Omega has 28 total inputs, 11 of which are programmable. Programmable controls include four rear paddles, two side buttons and five G-Keys on the underside. The G-Keys can be mapped to common in-game actions such as jump or fire, allowing players to move commands off the primary face and shoulder buttons.
The controller uses swappable thumbsticks that can be changed for lower or higher profiles. Scuf lists the pad as offering true 0% deadzones and adjustable trigger and thumbstick response curves. Users can select thumbstick response zones labeled Circle, Square or the default Squircle and recalibrate thumbsticks through the controller interface.
On the software side, the Omega supports multiple profiles that can be built and stored directly on the controller. Settings include configurable SOCD profiles for fighting games, audio and microphone controls, battery level and charging status displays, and firmware update capability. The controller supports mobile gaming connectivity and offers a customizable RGB lighting strip when used on PC.
PlayStation introduced the controller on its blog and described the Omega as developed in collaboration with Scuf as an officially licensed PS5 option. Scuf presents the Omega as part of its line of performance controllers focused on customization and low-latency operation.
