Sea of Stars Sunset Edition Adds PS5 Cinematic Opening

Sabotage released Sea of Stars Sunset Edition for PS5 and PS4, adding a new cinematic opening, updated key art and balance changes to the game’s standard difficulty.

Sabotage released the Sea of Stars Sunset Edition for PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4, available now as a digital update. The package adds a cinematic opening that the studio described as its “biggest budget” cutscene to date, updated key art used in promotional materials and a YouTube trailer, and balance changes to the game’s standard difficulty.

A physical collector’s edition will follow through a partnership with iam8bit and will be announced later.

Sabotage presented the Sunset Edition as the latest additions for Sea of Stars while the team reallocates resources to a new project codenamed Project Sparrow. The studio wrote that Project Sparrow has been in development for a little over a year and “has officially fully entered production.” The team did not provide platforms, genre or a release window for the new title.

Sea of Stars has received earlier post-launch support, including a free expansion titled Throes of the Watchmaker. The game was previously available on PS Plus Extra. At release the title earned an 8/10 score from critics, who highlighted its turn-based combat, pixel-art world, story and characters.

Players on PS5 and PS4 can download the Sunset Edition update to experience the new cinematic opening and the adjustments to standard difficulty. Collectors should expect further details and availability for the physical edition from iam8bit.
