Sega Reveals Crazy Taxi: World Tour for Switch 2 (2027)

Sega announced Crazy Taxi: World Tour for the Nintendo Switch 2 and listed a 2027 release window. The publisher included a disclosure on the game’s Steam page stating generative AI was used as a support tool during development.

On the game’s Steam page, SEGA Corporation wrote: “At SEGA Corporation, we utilize generative AI as a support tool for developers, aiming to provide better content to our users and enable developers to focus more on creative tasks. We have used such generative AI support tools during development of Crazy Taxi: World Tour.” The publisher also noted, “No AI was used in reference to the performers in the game.”

Sega confirmed the soundtrack will feature music from The Offspring and presented an art style that closely resembles earlier entries in the series.

The Steam disclosure did not identify which assets or development processes received AI support. Sega has not provided a specific release date, described any Switch 2 exclusive features, or clarified whether AI-assisted content will appear in the final game or remained part of internal workflows.

Crazy Taxi originated in the late 1990s and is known for fast-paced, arcade-style driving and licensed rock music. Sega describes World Tour as a revival of the franchise for Nintendo’s next console. Further details on gameplay, modes and pricing are expected closer to launch.
