Sega to Release Four Major Games Globally This Fiscal Year
Sega plans four major global releases this fiscal year across consoles, PC and mobile, with post-launch support, localization and coordinated marketing.
Sega told investors it will launch four major games worldwide during the current fiscal year to boost sales and expand its global footprint.
The slate will target consoles, PC and mobile platforms, with launches spread across the fiscal year and timed for simultaneous or near-simultaneous release in Japan, North America and Europe. The company said it will localize content for each market.
Sega did not disclose project names, describing the lineup as a mix of established franchises and new intellectual property. The company said some entries will include companion mobile releases or standalone mobile titles tied to larger projects.
Planned post-launch support includes downloadable content and live-service features where appropriate. Sega intends to staff live operations teams to run events and monetization after release to extend engagement and recurring revenue.
The commercial approach covers global marketing campaigns, local-language support and coordination with publishing partners and platform holders to secure distribution across current-generation consoles and PC storefronts. Sega expects the releases to increase digital sales ratios and lifetime revenue per title but provided no sales forecasts for individual games.
Sega said it has adjusted internal development timelines and is collaborating with external studios to enable worldwide launches. The company reported reallocating resources to quality assurance, localization and server infrastructure for online features.
“We will bring four major titles to players around the world and support each with localized marketing and live operations,” a company spokesman said. He added the firm will track player engagement metrics closely to guide post-launch content schedules.
