Shift Up to Self-Publish Stellar Blade 2 on PS5 in 2026

Shift Up will reveal details of Stellar Blade 2 for PS5 later this year and will self-publish the sequel, the company indicated in its Q1 2026 earnings presentation.

In its Q1 2026 earnings presentation, Shift Up listed Stellar Blade 2 and Project Spirits under a slide titled “2026 and beyond” with a note reading “detailed to be revealed within the year.” The studio said it will provide more information on both projects later in 2026.

The presentation confirmed Stellar Blade 2 is expected to launch on PlayStation 5 and that Shift Up will publish the title itself rather than work with an external publishing partner.

Slides described development on the sequel as “progressing smoothly” and on track to meet the company’s quality standards.

Shift Up presented the decision to self-publish alongside details of its business expansion. The slides stated the company now owns “multiple IPs across both live-service and PC/console segments” and said its “IP lineup and business capabilities” have been reinforced.

The presentation indicated the studio will lead marketing for Stellar Blade 2, aiming to present the IP’s identity and communicate its appeal directly to players.

Shift Up also highlighted a recent acquisition of the developer led by Shinji Mikami and listed plans to bring Mikami’s next title to market following that acquisition.

The company did not provide a release window, budgets, sales projections, or platform plans beyond confirming PS5 for Stellar Blade 2. No new gameplay footage or screenshots were shown during the investor presentation.

Stellar Blade was Shift Up’s first major console release and built a vocal fanbase after its PS5 launch. The studio said it intends to handle publishing and marketing in-house for the sequel to maintain direct communication with players.
