Model Shin Jae-eun Returns to Shift Up Before Stellar Blade 2
Shin Jae-eun visited Shift Up’s Seoul studio to tour its motion-capture room, model outfits and meet founder Kim Hyung-tae ahead of the studio’s reveal of Stellar Blade 2.
Shin Jae-eun visited Shift Up’s Seoul studio this month to tour the developer’s performance-capture room, model several outfits and meet founder Kim Hyung-tae, according to a vlog she posted.
During the visit she walked through the capture space, posed for photos with staff and tried on multiple outfits. She noted the capture room appears largely the same as when she first worked with the studio, but Shift Up has fitted new camera equipment. The company has not confirmed whether any of the costumes will be added to Stellar Blade as a future update.
Hyung-tae, who selected Jae-eun to model Eve, explained his casting choice: “I wanted to introduce characters and a world that felt a bit surreal. Out of everyone I know, you had the most surreal look that I thought would perfectly fit a video game character. That’s why I reached out to you. Thank you so much for accepting it and filming with us back then.”
He presented Jae-eun with a limited-edition Eve figurine from a run of 50 units. The statuette was damaged during the exchange; Hyung-tae replaced the broken piece with one of his own and joked he could “glue” his back together.
Shift Up confirmed it will share more details about Stellar Blade 2 later this year and plans to self-publish the sequel. The studio released the original Stellar Blade on PlayStation platforms. Jae-eun’s likeness was scanned into the original game’s production in 2020.
The visit offered a behind-the-scenes look at Shift Up’s development space ahead of the sequel’s formal reveal.
