Solo Developer Says Sektori Switch 2 Sales Provided Living Wage
Solo developer Kimmo Lahtinen posted that Sektori’s Switch 2 release sold about 30,000 copies and generated enough income to cover a living salary after 4.5 years without pay.
Kimmo Lahtinen, the solo developer behind Kimmo Factor Oy, posted on Bluesky that the Switch 2 release of his twin-stick shooter Sektori has sold about 30,000 copies. He wrote, “I’ve pretty much recouped a living salary,” and added that the port generated enough income to cover a living salary for him.
Lahtinen wrote that earlier releases on PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox covered only indirect costs and overhead, leaving him without a salary for 4.5 years. He did not provide a breakdown of revenue or disclose exact pricing.
At the time of the post, total Switch 2 sales were reported at roughly 30,000 copies. Lahtinen did not provide further sales figures or timing for those sales.
Sektori is a fast-paced twin-stick shooter often compared to Geometry Wars. Reviews and player responses have highlighted the game’s visuals, soundtrack and steady 60 frames-per-second performance.
Sektori remains available on multiple platforms. Lahtinen posted the update on Bluesky and did not detail his future plans following the Switch 2 launch.
