Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition Switch 2 box art leaks

Photos of a sealed Switch 2 ‘Definitive Edition’ of Sonic Frontiers surfaced online after a Reddit account claiming to work at Walmart posted the images.

Photos of a sealed Nintendo Switch 2 copy of a “Definitive Edition” of Sonic Frontiers appeared online after a Reddit account that said it worked at Walmart posted images showing box art and a list of bonus content. The Reddit account has been deleted.

The back cover in the photos carries an “enhanced for the Nintendo Switch 2” label and lists extra content including “Sights, Sounds, and Speed”, “Sonic’s Birthday Bash”, a new story campaign titled “The Final Horizon”, bonus in-game items, a digital art book and a mini soundtrack. The packaging also indicates the release is a Game-Key Card, which suggests a physical code rather than a cartridge.

Observers examined the barcode on the packaging and described it as appearing to be legitimate. A second photo from the same account showed two boxed copies side-by-side.

Earlier rating entries had listed a Definitive Edition of Sonic Frontiers. The timing of the surfaced images coincides with Sonic’s 35th anniversary later this month.

The posted images do not show a release date, price or platform-specific technical details beyond the Switch 2 enhancement claim. Sega and Nintendo have not issued statements confirming the packaging, its contents or a launch window.
