Sony Asks PS4 and PS5 Owners to Rate PS Plus After Price Hikes
Sony emailed PS4 and PS5 users a survey asking them to rate PS Plus features and say whether they will renew after price increases across all three tiers.
Sony emailed PS4 and PS5 owners a survey asking for feedback on PlayStation Plus features and whether they plan to renew after price increases across the service’s three tiers. The email included the line, “any feedback will help us improve the service,” and listed specific features for users to rate.
The survey asks recipients to rate satisfaction with access to subscription games, the online multiplayer experience, PlayStation Store discounts, Share Play, 100GB of cloud storage for game saves and the overall value of the subscription. It then asks how likely respondents are to renew their PS Plus membership when it expires, which consoles they own and concludes with the open question, “what would make your PlayStation Plus experience feel more rewarding to you.”
Sony sent the survey shortly after confirming price increases for new users and anyone who lets a membership lapse. One-month prices rise for PS Plus Essential from $9.99 to $10.99, for PS Plus Extra from $14.99 to $16.99 and for PS Plus Premium from $17.99 to $19.99. Three-month prices increase for Essential from $24.99 to $27.99, for Extra from $39.99 to $43.99 and for Premium from $49.99 to $54.99.
The company applied comparable increases in the U.K. and eurozone. One-month Essential moves from £6.99 to £7.99 and €8.99 to €9.99; Extra rises from £10.99 to £11.99 and €13.99 to €15.99; Premium increases from £13.49 to £14.99 and €16.99 to €18.99. Three-month Essential goes from £19.99 to £21.99 and €24.99 to €27.99; Extra from £31.99 to £34.99 and €39.99 to €43.99; Premium from £39.99 to £43.99 and €49.99 to €54.99.
A recent poll of PlayStation users found 64% said PS Plus Essential did not represent good value in 2026. Sony had initially announced only the higher price for the base tier, but confirmed Extra and Premium rates were increased as well.
PlayStation Plus provides online multiplayer, cloud saves, store discounts and access to a library of subscription games across its three tiers. The company is collecting ratings on those features and open-ended feedback to measure member satisfaction and renewal intent after the pricing update.
