Sony Days of Play to run May 27-June 10; no PS5 console cuts

Sony confirmed that its Days of Play promotion will run from May 27 through June 10, offering discounts on PS5 accessories and a sale on the PlayStation Store for hundreds of PS5 and PS4 titles. The company did not include price reductions for PS5 consoles.

Sony highlighted several accessory price cuts for the event, including $100 off the PlayStation VR2, $50 off Pulse Explore wireless earbuds, $40 off the Pulse Elite wireless headset, $30 off the DualSense Edge controller, $30 off the Access controller and up to $20 off DualSense wireless controllers. These offers will be available through participating retailers.

On the PlayStation Store, the Days of Play sale will list hundreds of reduced PS5 and PS4 games during the same period. Sony named several titles expected to appear in the sale, including Ghost of Yotei, Helldivers 2, Death Stranding 2 and The Last of Us Part II Remastered. Discounted game listings will go live on the PlayStation Store when the sale begins.

The absence of console discounts follows recent increases to PS5 system prices. Earlier reports had suggested consoles would not be reduced during this promotion; Sony’s announcement confirmed those reports.

Shoppers seeking accessory deals should check participating retailers for the advertised price cuts. Digital game discounts will be visible on the PlayStation Store when the Days of Play sale launches on May 27 and will end on June 10.
