Sony Delays PS5 FlexStrike Fight Stick Indefinitely

Sony postponed the PS5 FlexStrike wireless fight stick, set for August 2026 alongside Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls; no new release date was provided.

Sony has indefinitely delayed the PS5 FlexStrike wireless fight stick, which had been scheduled to launch in August 2026 to coincide with the release of Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls. The company did not announce a new release date.

Sony attributed the postponement to production problems. In a statement the company wrote, “Due to unexpected production delays, FlexStrike wireless fight stick will launch at a later date. We’re working to ensure we deliver the best possible experience to our players with FlexStrike, so we’re taking extra time to put the finishing touches on the product. We apologize for this delay and look forward to bringing the FlexStrike experience to the community when it launches.”

The announcement arrived fewer than 30 days before the planned August release. Customers who preordered through PS Direct will receive updates on the PS Direct website, and those who preordered via select retailers have been asked to contact their store for further information. The company has not explained the specific production problems or provided a revised shipping timetable.

The FlexStrike had been priced at $199.99 in the United States, €199.99 in the eurozone, £179.99 in the UK and ¥34,980 in Japan.

The accessory is an official wireless fight stick for the PlayStation 5, designed for players who prefer a joystick and button layout for arcade-style fighting games. Sony had planned coordinated promotion with Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls and has not indicated any change to the game’s release schedule.
