Sony reportedly developing inFAMOUS collection for PS5

A single uncorroborated tip says Sony is working with an unnamed external developer to bring the first two inFAMOUS games to PlayStation 5. The package is reported to include the original inFAMOUS (2009) and inFAMOUS 2 (2011).

The rumor drew attention after fans noticed Sucker Punch removed a 2022 blog post that had stated, “we have no plans to revisit inFAMOUS or Sly Cooper right now, and no other studio is currently working on projects related to those franchises either.” The post is no longer available on the studio’s site.

The original PS3 releases have been noted for low-resolution textures and inconsistent frame rates. A PS5 release could offer upgraded visuals, more stable performance and DualSense controller features. The report also mentions the standalone Festival of Blood DLC as a possible inclusion.

Sony announced remakes of the original God of War trilogy earlier this year. Fans have requested additional inFAMOUS entries and remasters for years, and the removal of the 2022 post intensified attention to the rumor.

The first inFAMOUS introduced protagonist Cole MacGrath in Empire City. The sequel expanded the setting to New Marais and refined the franchise’s moral-choice mechanics and power upgrades. Both titles were released between 2009 and 2011 for PlayStation 3.
