Sony June State of Play: Major PS5 Reveals and Release Dates

Sony’s June State of Play ran over an hour and confirmed God of War: Laufey, extended Marvel’s Wolverine gameplay, Until Dawn 2 (2027) and a new Tomb Raider.

Sony held a State of Play livestream in June 2026 that ran for more than an hour and focused exclusively on PS5 announcements. The event combined world premieres, gameplay footage and release-date updates for titles slated across late 2026 and 2027.

Sony confirmed God of War: Laufey as the next mainline entry in the series and listed it as “coming soon” to PS5. Marvel’s Wolverine received its first extended gameplay showcase, featuring cinematic, close-quarters combat. Until Dawn 2 was announced with a 2027 release window. A new Tomb Raider title was shown with footage of Lara Croft facing dinosaurs; Sony listed it as a $60 PS5 release due next year.

The show included additional game reveals and updates. Rayman Returns was presented as a modern retelling for PS5. Stuntman: Hollwood was introduced as a revival of a PS2-era property and will include licensed movie content. The Lost Wild, a survival game with dinosaur encounters, was given a 2027 release window. New action titles Kemuri and Phantom Blade Zero were shown, with Phantom Blade Zero confirmed as delayed out of September. Indie title ILL appeared with a distinctive unsettling aesthetic. A PS5 prequel to Dave the Diver will center on Bancho the Chef.

Sony also announced release-date specifics and platform plans. Control: Resonant received a September 2026 release window and a new trailer. Dune: Awakening will include a single-player mode at its PS5 launch in September. Ace Combat 8: Wings of Theve was dated for October and will include Ace Combat Zero: The Belkan War as a pre-order bonus. Townfall was dated for 24 September. Dynasty Warriors 3 Remastered will arrive on PS5 in October and adds a protagonist from the Origins title. Several PS2-era games were confirmed for PS5 via PS Plus Premium, and PS Plus Extra will bring a classic RPG property to consoles for the first time.

Multiple high-profile titles now target September and October, and at least one game shown at State of Play was pushed out of that autumn window. The broadcast presented a mix of premieres, gameplay segments and scheduling updates that set out Sony’s PS5 slate for the remainder of 2026 and into 2027.
