Sony Limits PS Plus Days of Play Discount to New, Upgrading Users
Sony will offer up to 33% off 12-month PS Plus plans during Days of Play from May 27–June 10, 2026, but the discount applies only to new subscribers and users who upgrade tiers.
Sony will discount annual PlayStation Plus subscriptions by as much as 33% during its Days of Play promotion, running May 27–June 10, 2026. The reduction applies only to 12-month plans and only for customers who are new to PS Plus or who move to a higher tier.
The company confirmed the eligibility rules on the PlayStation blog. Sony wrote: “Current PlayStation Plus members can save 33% on the remainder of their membership when upgrading from PlayStation Plus Essential/Extra to PlayStation Plus Premium/Deluxe.” The company clarified that extending an existing membership at the same tier does not qualify for the promotional price.
Eligible upgrades include moving from PS Plus Essential to Extra or from Extra to Premium (called Deluxe in some regions). Customers who upgrade will see the discount applied to the remaining portion of their current membership.
Members already subscribed to the top tier, Premium, have no higher tier to select and cannot receive the discount through an upgrade under the current rules.
Discounted annual subscriptions are available through the PlayStation Store and related purchase channels during the promotion window, subject to regional variations and terms.
Sony recently raised prices for one-month and three-month PS Plus commitments in many markets. One-month prices increased in several countries, for example PS Plus Essential rose from $9.99 to $10.99, PS Plus Extra from $14.99 to $16.99, and PS Plus Premium from $17.99 to $19.99. Three-month plans saw comparable increases. Sony noted 12-month commitments were largely unchanged in most countries, with some exceptions such as Australia.
Days of Play is an annual PlayStation promotion that typically includes discounts on games, hardware and subscription plans. In 2023 the promotion language covered new members, existing members and upgrades; since 2024 the wording has limited the offer to new subscribers and upgrades.
PlayStation Plus is offered in three tiers. Essential provides online multiplayer and monthly games. Extra adds a catalog of downloadable titles. Premium (Deluxe in some regions without cloud streaming) includes the full catalog, game trials and cloud streaming where available. Under the current promotion, upgrading to a higher tier is the only path for an existing member to qualify for the 33% reduction on a 12-month plan.
