Sony reveals Mycopunk as October PS Plus day-one game

Sony confirmed that Mycopunk will be the PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium game for October, arriving as a day-one PS5 release on Tuesday, Oct. 20 and appearing on the PlayStation Store the same day. The announcement was made during September’s PlayStation State of Play and applies to both the Extra and Premium subscription tiers.

Developer Pigeons at Play previously released Mycopunk on PC. The title is a cooperative first-person shooter and the PlayStation release will be the game’s first appearance on Sony’s platform.

An official overview describes player characters as members of the New Atlas Hazard Crew, a ragtag squad of robot rejects hired by the SAXON corporation to investigate a planet-wide fungal catastrophe. Players take on planet-side missions as exterminators confronting a spreading mycological threat.

Subscribers in eligible PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium tiers can download and play Mycopunk on release day without a separate purchase. The simultaneous listing on the PlayStation Store will allow players who are not subscribers to buy the game at launch.

Sony typically staggers catalog additions by region, but because Mycopunk is a day-one release it is expected to be available across regions on Oct. 20.

Sony will publish the full PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium October 2026 lineup and the release schedule by Wednesday, Oct. 14.
