Sony raises PS Plus base-tier monthly and 3-month prices

Sony will raise PS Plus base-tier one-month to $10.99/£7.99 and three-month to $27.99/£21.99 for new subscribers starting May 20, 2026; 12-month unchanged.

Sony is raising prices for the PS Plus base tier for new subscribers starting May 20, 2026. The one-month subscription will increase to $10.99/£7.99 and the three-month subscription will rise to $27.99/£21.99. The 12-month option will not change.

Sony confirmed the change in a social media post, attributing the increase to “ongoing market conditions.” The company said the new rates apply to new subscribers in “select regions” but did not specify which countries those are.

Under the new pricing, the one-month plan moves from $9.99 to $10.99 in U.S. dollar markets and from £6.99 to £7.99 in British pound markets. The three-month plan goes from $24.99 to $27.99 and from £19.99 to £21.99. Sony said the 12-month price will remain the same.

Sony said current subscribers will not see the price change unless their subscription lapses or they change plans. The company added an exception for Turkey and India, where active subscribers may be affected even if their memberships remain active.

Sony did not provide further detail on which regions are included, how long the higher rates will remain in place, or whether other PS Plus tiers will be adjusted. Customers who let existing subscriptions expire and then sign up again will be charged the new rates once the change takes effect.

Sony wrote on social media: “This price change does not apply to current subscribers (except in Turkey and India) unless the existing subscription changes or lapses.”
