Report: Sony remaking PS3 inFamous 1 and 2 for PS5

Sony is reportedly working on PS5 remakes of the PS3 action-adventure games inFamous and inFamous 2, and the work is said to be handled by a PlayStation studio other than original developer Sucker Punch, a journalist reported after speaking with a source. The claim has not been confirmed by Sony or Sucker Punch.

The journalist discussed the information on a recent podcast, saying a source indicated the first two inFamous titles were being revived for PS5. He added that details could change and the report has not been independently verified, and he warned listeners to “take this rumor with a massive grain of salt.”

Sony has reorganized parts of its interactive entertainment division over the past year, reducing staff at some studios and canceling multiple projects. One studio that was affected during the restructuring was Bluepoint Games. Those changes have altered internal development plans and may affect proposed remakes.

At present, the only inFamous game available to buy for PS5 is Second Son, originally released on PS4 and playable on PS5 via backward compatibility. Bringing the first two PS3 games to PS5 would make those titles directly available on the current console generation.

Sony and Sucker Punch have not issued statements confirming or denying the report. Until an official announcement, the status of any inFamous remakes, the studio handling them, and any potential release window remain speculative.
