Sony removes micro-indie Acyntha from PS Store
Sony ended its relationship with micro‑indie Acyntha; the studio’s games, including Pizza No Pizza and New Supper Banana, will be removed from the PlayStation Store at month end.
Sony has terminated its relationship with micro‑indie developer Acyntha and will remove the studio’s games from the PlayStation Store at the end of the month. Titles listed for removal include Pizza No Pizza and New Supper Banana.
In a post on X, Acyntha wrote that its “relationship with PlayStation has been terminated” and that its products will be removed at month’s end.
The announcement follows recent removals by Sony of thousands of low-effort or rapidly produced games from the PS Store as the company enforces its content policies. Sony has provided limited public detail about the specific criteria used for those removals.
Observers and players have noted that some of the removed or targeted titles award very easy Platinum trophies and appear designed for quick completion or trophy farming rather than extended play. These reports have raised questions about how such games passed storefront review before listing.
After the scheduled removal date, Acyntha’s games will no longer be available for purchase or download from the PlayStation Store. Sony has not indicated whether previously purchased copies will be affected.
Console digital storefronts have seen more low-cost, quickly produced releases since self-publishing tools became more accessible. Platform holders have adjusted submission and review processes and removed content they determine does not meet their store rules.
