Sony schedules two State of Play streams for Sept. 3, 2026
Sony confirmed two back-to-back State of Play livestreams on Sept. 3, 2026, beginning with a global broadcast that ends with an extended Final Fantasy VII Revelation segment.
Sony will hold two back-to-back PlayStation State of Play livestreams on September 3, 2026. The first global broadcast will stream on YouTube and Twitch and will conclude with an extended presentation of Final Fantasy VII Revelation before transitioning to State of Play Japan.
The global broadcast starts at 6 a.m. PT / 9 a.m. ET / 3 p.m. CEST / 10 p.m. JST. Sony wrote that it will include updates from PlayStation Studios and third-party partners, and it will end with a new, longer look at Square Enix’s Final Fantasy VII Revelation, the final entry in the remake series scheduled for release in Spring 2027.
State of Play Japan will follow immediately and will be presented by voice actor Yuki Kaji. That stream will focus on projects from Japanese and other Asian studios and is expected to include gameplay and announcements. Sony has not released a full game list or the total runtime for the combined broadcasts.
Observers have suggested that Sony could provide updates to previously announced projects during the September presentations, including God of War Laufey, a follow-up to Until Dawn, and the Ghost of Yotei expansion. Those possibilities remain speculative until Sony publishes an official lineup.
Sony’s September confirmation follows a June State of Play that highlighted Marvel’s Wolverine and revealed God of War Laufey. The company announced the two September livestreams a day after an industry account named NateTheHate reported that Sony planned an event in September. Viewers can watch both broadcasts on YouTube and Twitch at the posted start times.
