South of Midnight Sweeps Canadian Game Awards 2026

South of Midnight won six awards at the Canadian Game Awards 2026, including Game of the Year. The ceremony, held this week, recognized games released over the past year.

Compulsion Games developed South of Midnight and Xbox Game Studios published it. The title took home awards for Game of the Year, Best Console Game, Best Narrative, Best Art Direction, Best Score/Soundtrack and Best Audio Design.

Compulsion Games also received the Studio of the Year award at the same event.

South of Midnight first launched for Xbox Series X|S and PC in April 2025. The game was released on PlayStation 5 and Switch 2 in the weeks before the awards.

Other winners at the ceremony included Assassin’s Creed Shadows for Best in Accessibility, Battlefield 6 for Best PC Game and Hell Is Us for Best Game Design.

The Canadian Game Awards recognize achievements across development, design and technical categories. A jury evaluated entries in areas such as storytelling, audio, art direction and technical achievement.
