Space Marine 2 headed to Nintendo Switch 2 later this year

Nintendo revealed in a Nintendo Direct sizzle reel that Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 will arrive on Switch 2 later this year. The clip was brief and did not include a specific release date.

The preview showed the game running on Switch 2 hardware. Observers noted that visual settings appear adjusted for the console while gameplay elements such as third-person combat and cinematic set pieces remain visible.

Space Marine 2 launched in 2024. The game is built around close-quarters combat, large set pieces, detailed character models, weapon effects and fast melee and gunplay. In the Switch 2 footage, those elements appear present while image sharpness looked reduced compared with other systems.

The sizzle reel did not include technical specifications or performance targets. There was no information on frame rate, resolution, load times, retail listings or pricing for the Switch 2 edition.

The presentation included several third-party titles, and Space Marine 2 was among them. No comments from the game’s developer or Nintendo accompanied the clip, and there is no confirmation yet on whether the Switch 2 version will include post-launch updates or downloadable content that appeared on other platforms.

Warhammer 40,000 began as a tabletop wargame and expanded into novels, miniatures and video games. The Space Marine series focuses on frontline infantry combat and heavy weaponry; Space Marine 2 continues that focus in a modern third-person format.
