Spider-Man 2 PS5 gets surprise ‘Fresh Start Suit’ on July 28

Sony announced a surprise cosmetic add-on for Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 on PS5: the Fresh Start Suit will arrive on July 28, three days before the Spider-Man: Brand New Day film opens in theaters on July 31.

The announcement applies specifically to the PS5 version. Sony has not confirmed whether the suit will be released for PC or other platforms, and it has not disclosed whether the item will be free or paid. No screenshots, in-game descriptions or pricing details were provided.

Spider-Man 2 was developed by Insomniac Games and remains a PlayStation exclusive title. The game is currently available in the PS Plus Extra catalog; Sony has not specified how long it will remain part of that service.

Since launch the game has not received story expansions; official post-launch content has been limited to cosmetic options. Players previously obtained outfits through the digital deluxe edition and a free Fly N’ Fresh Suit Pack on the PlayStation Store.

The title is not listed in an ongoing PlayStation Store sale. When Spider-Man 2 has appeared in store promotions it has tended to receive discounts in the 50%–58% range.

Sony and Insomniac have not released further details about distribution, platform parity or technical requirements for the Fresh Start Suit. Consumers and retailers will be watching for additional updates ahead of the July 28 release date.
