Spyro: A Realm Beyond arrives on Xbox Series X|S in 2027

Toys for Bob announced Spyro: A Realm Beyond during the Xbox Games Showcase in 2026. The studio described the title as a new Spyro adventure built around expanded dragon flight and set it for release on Xbox Series X and Series S in spring 2027. The game will be available on day one to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass subscribers and will launch on additional platforms, though those were not specified.

In a developer interview, the studio described its chief design goal as giving players “the freedom and fantasy of dragon flight” and said the team built the world around that idea. The studio highlighted the ability to “take the skies at a moment’s notice” and to make movement choices that combine ground-based charging with aerial soaring.

Microsoft confirmed the Game Pass day-one availability and indicated the title will appear on multiple platforms when it launches, without naming them. The announcement did not include pricing, collector editions, cross-save support, cross-play, or further technical details such as cloud streaming beyond standard Game Pass access.

Toys for Bob developed the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, several Skylanders games and Crash Bandicoot 4. The studio noted its previous work on remasters and family-focused platformers informed the approach to the new game’s flight mechanics and open spaces.
