Square Enix to Air 10-Minute Dragon Quest 40th Broadcast

Square Enix announced it will air a 10-minute Dragon Quest 40th anniversary broadcast on Wednesday, May 27 at 6 a.m. PT / 9 a.m. ET / 2 p.m. BST. The company confirmed the event length and start time but did not name a platform.

Square Enix wrote the stream “will be ten minutes long” and indicated the presentation will offer a look at the series’ future. The publisher added it has “plenty of surprises and announcements in store for fans in 2026.”

The company revealed an official 40th anniversary logo alongside the broadcast details. The logo appears with the publisher’s outline of anniversary activities and planned reveals across 2026.

Developers including Takashi Anzai, Yosuke Saito and Kazutoyo Maehiro have referenced additional Dragon Quest projects for 2026. The publisher has hinted at possible surprises involving Dragon Quest and Nier properties but has not provided specific titles or release windows.

Dragon Quest launched in 1986 and includes multiple mainline entries, spin-offs and related media. The May 27 broadcast is the first confirmed event tied to the franchise’s 40th anniversary.

Square Enix has not published a full rundown of what will be shown during the 10-minute presentation.
