Square Enix releases free PS5 prologue for Elliot RPG
Square Enix released a free prologue demo for The Adventures of Elliot on the PlayStation Store worldwide; demo progress carries over to the full PS5 release on June 18, 2026.
Square Enix has released a free prologue demo for the PlayStation 5 role-playing game The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales on the PlayStation Store worldwide. Any progress made in the demo will transfer to the full release on June 18, 2026 if players use the same PlayStation account.
The demo is available in all regions and does not require a PlayStation Plus subscription. Players with a PlayStation Plus Premium membership can stream the demo from the cloud instead of downloading it. The publisher noted the prologue blocks access to certain areas and does not permit redemption of “save data bonuses.”
Square Enix characterized the prologue as the opening chapter with the same level of exploration found in the full game and said players can advance the main quest, explore, or seek new weapons and magicite. The company wrote: “Enjoy the opening chapter of the story with the same freedom of adventure as in the full game. Progress in the main quest, explore the unknown, or hunt down new weapons and magicite — the future is up to you. Your adventure in Philabieldia, a world filled with discovery, starts here!”
The Adventures of Elliot is developed by the team behind Octopath Traveler and Bravely Default, franchises known for turn-based combat and a stylized presentation. The full game will be a PlayStation 5 exclusive at launch on June 18, 2026. The prologue gives players a chance to sample the game world, core systems and early story beats ahead of release.
